Note: OpenAI Sam Altman Interview

SA: I mean, my basic assumption is that each software engineer will just do much, much more for a while. And then at some point, yeah, maybe we do need less software engineers. Lots of ink spilled on the nature of software engineering. I find it hard to believe that we’ll need fewer engineers… but flaged this as a ‘prediction’ so I can check back later. Note: Still Learn to Code

As coding becomes easier, more people should code, not fewer! Oft repeated, AI won’t take your job, but someone using it probably will. Note: AI meets little bobby tables

The attack technique developed by Pillar Researchers, which they call ‘Rules File Backdoor,’ weaponizes rules files by injecting them with instructions that are invisible to a human user but readable by the AI agent. xkcd taught me anything, its to sanitize my inputs Quote Citation: Laura French, “How AI coding assistants could be compromised via rules file”, March 18, 2025, https://www.scworld.com/news/how-ai-coding-assistants-could-be-compromised-via-rules-file

Note: Example of AI not honoring robots.txt

The AI scraper (I can only assume thats what they are) scourge continued, and intensified in the last week. This time they were hitting pagure.io really quite hard. Robots.txt is only honor system. One of many postings calling it out. Quote Citation: Kevin, “Mid March infra bits 2025”, 2025-03-15 17:52, https://www.scrye.com/blogs/nirik/posts/2025/03/15/mid-march-infra-bits-2025/

Note: Founder Fraud with JPMorganChase

I feel like the moral of the story is don’t cross Chase. Quote Citation: AP, “Startup founder convicted of defrauding JPMorgan Chase of $175M by faking firm’s success”, MARCH 29, 2025 8:55 AM ET, https://www.npr.org/2025/03/29/nx-s1-5344434/charlie-javice-convicted-defrauding-jpmorgan
